In business circles, I am called a rainmaker. I’m a visionary. In other words, I’m good at business development. But having the idea and bringing in lots of work is only 1/2 of the battle. This help wanted is for an Assistant to keep my world organized.
Our company does demolition. I have a small staff that to me, feels like family. From our somewhat simple office in Tonawanda we manage large environmental projects as far away as Florida.
One half of the job is to assist me with traditional secretarial items: keep my calendar, return my emails and correspondence, schedule my flights. The other half is to maintain order in our office. Between myself, the Estimators, and Project Managers, there is a substantial amount of activity going in and out of our office. Your job would be to manage it—make it happen.
The best candidate
- Will be the one who would rather design the process than be asked to function in one that someone else made.
- Will be tough. It’s construction. If someone gives you shit, you should be able to give it back. Actually, the right person for this job will be able to whip us into shape by insisting on a certain level of professionalism in their office domain.
- Should be naturally detailed and organized (almost to a fault).
